These four destinations account for most English-language study abroad, and each has a distinct gatekeeping step: the UK issues a CAS, the US requires an I-20 and a SEVIS payment before the interview, Canada assesses a study permit on a written file, and Australia applies the genuine student requirement. Each has its own money rules, and each is strict about where the money came from.

How long must funds be held in the account before applying?
The UK requires the maintenance funds to be held for 28 consecutive days ending no more than 31 days before the application. Other countries apply different rules. A transfer that lands the week before you apply is a common and avoidable reason for refusal.
Can my spouse come with me on a student visa?
Dependant rights differ sharply by country and by course level, and several have been narrowed in recent years. We check the rule that applies to your specific course before you make plans, rather than assuming the position from a previous year.
